If you weren’t in ministry, what would you be doing?  Why?

I would still be in Information Technology in the banking industry and doing ministry part-time.  That’s what I was doing at the time I was called to KFBC.

What’s on your plate for dinner?

Carbohydrates (it’s a runner thing)

Talk about how your childhood has affected your life today.

My parents lived a Biblical lesson for me:  whatever you do, do it with all your might, as to the Lord.

When did you make Jesus your Lord and Savior?

On October 13th, 1992, I made the decision to dedicate my whole being to knowing and loving Jesus Christ, and glorifying and worshipping God by living my life according to His precepts.

Other than Jesus, who has been an influential person(s) in your life?

John Deloach (my high school band director), who taught me to never accept anything less than my best effort.  Robert Chesebro (my college woodwind professor), who taught me learning methods that I still employ today.  Benny Wade, who mentored me and modeled how to be a “minister” of music.

Holiday Inn Express, and I’m totally not a doctor.

What Bible verse best describes you?

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14 – NKJV)

What’s your favorite movie?  Why?

Jaws – “you’re gonna need a bigger boat”

Other than Jesus, who would you most like to have lunch with?  Why?

Jim Cymbala.  He has to be an absolute prayer warrior.

What’s your secret ambition?

Running the Boston marathon (now it’s not a secret)

What favorite books are on your shelf?

“The Jesus I Never Knew” – Phillip Yancey; “The Purpose Driven Life” – Rick Warren; “Cape Cod” – Henry David Thoreau; “The Complete Works Of Robert Frost” – ed. Lathem.  My Bible isn’t on the shelf, its got legs!
