Thank
you for your interest in First Baptist Christian School! FBCS is
a ministry of Kennesaw First Baptist Church. We are thankful for
God's blessings as we continue to pursue excellence in all we do. II Corinthians
10:31 clearly states: "Whatever you do, do all to the glory
of God." Our pursuit of excellence is motivated by our desire
to glorify God.
At
FBCS, we recognize that each person is a God-created individual.
First Baptist Christian School admits students of any race, color,
national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs,
and activities generally accorded or made available to students
at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color,
national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational
policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs.

Elementary
Division
Our
program has been developed to minister to your child spiritually,
emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially in a loving
environment that is Christ-centered.
Our faculty is a committed team of Christian leaders who feel called
by God to this ministry and are regularly trained for their positions.
We offer a challenging curriculum that we invite you to come by
and see.
The
mission of FBCS is to help equip learners to face the challenges
of life God's way.
- Academics:
We use A Beka curriculum and all math and science manipulatives.
- Bible:
Each class has a daily Bible story and memorizes scripture following
the A Beka curriculum.
- Computer
Lab: Each child has regularly scheduled, individual computer time
with our computer teacher. They learn computer use and reinforce
classroom skills.
- Spanish:
Our students attend Spanish classes where they are taught a practical
application of the language.
- Chapel:
Students attend a chapel service that includes lively songs and
Bible application stories. Occasionally, a special speaker addresses
the group.
- P.E.:
Students have daily recess time. Weekly, they attend P.E. classes
taught from a curriculum developed by Christian Schools International.
- Library:
Each child has a regularly scheduled time to listen to a story,
do research and check out books.
- Standardized
Achievement Testing: We administer a Christian School Edition
of the Stanford Achievement Test each spring to our K5 grade students
and older. Most students scores above their grade level in all
areas tested: Reading, Mathematics, Language, Spelling, Listening,
and Environment. We are extremely proud of our students!
Preschool
Division
The FBCS Preschool works with you in reaching positive goals with
your students. Open communication is the key. We desire to have
a program above the minimum standard. Our staff will stretch to
go above and beyond the average expectation.
Our
curriculum encompasses academics along with social, spiritual, emotional,
and physical growth opportunities delivered in a framework directed
by our endeavors to follow the directions given to us in the Bible.
- Bible:
Each class has a daily Bible story. Children are encouraged
to learn Bible thoughts and verses and to apply them throughout
the day at school.
-
Music: Music classes are presented in addition to classroom
musical experiences. Action songs, puppets, and simple musical
instruments are utilized.
-
Computer: 2, 3, and 4 year old students have computer weekly.
Preschool students will have opportunities to work and learn
with and about computers.
-
Spanish: All preschoolers attend Spanish classes once per week,
where they are taught a practical application of the language.
-
Chapel: 4 year old WEE and A Beka students attend chapel services
once per month. Lively songs and Bible application stories are
shared. Occasionally, a special speaker addresses the group.
-
Playtime: Our outdoor playground provides space for physical
activity on most days. When weather requires, our children use
an indoor play area for various activities.
-
Library: 1-3 year olds have the library brought to them in their
classroom. 4 year olds enjoy time in the library.
-
Home Visits: Home visits are a basic foundation, which have
been a tradition for our preschool. This opportunity affords
parents and the students a time to meet with their teacher before
school begins.
